MANDAN SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS

The Mandan School Board did not violate the open meetings laws in the course of approving a land purchase or when its president appeared on a radio talk show with another Board member. The Board should have provided notice when a quorum of its members met with the finance committee.

TAX LEVY FOR COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

A county is not obligated to distribute tax revenue funds to an ambulance service if the county commission makes a factual determination that the ambulance service has waived any statutory right to receive its share of the funds. The county may not place the undistributed tax revenue in the county’s general fund until the county ceases to subsidize ambulance services.
