Concealed Weapons Licenses

NOTE: Changes to state laws and the application process take effect on August 1, 2013. See HB 1224, 1241, 1260, 1283, 1327, 1467 and SB 2145, 2239 from the 63rd Legislative Assembly or check back on August 1st for the updated information. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) processes applications for concealed weapon licenses and issues the licenses. The BCI is prohibited from providing information about the status of an application for a concealed weapon license, even to the applicant.

General Information:

APPLICATION PROCESSING: It takes up to 90 days to process a properly completed application that has all attachments. If the application is not complete, it will be returned.

If applicant satisfies the criteria established by law, the license will be issued within 90 days; if not, the applicant will receive a denial letter.
